Joe Kennedy's eBay Jobs Project Update August 7th

Here's the latest update from my eBay Jobs Project where I was 'won' on an eBay auction for the month of August.  The winning bidders were the team of Barbara Sanderson of Glass Gardens NW and Craig Weindling of Smiley Dog reliable and healthy pet food delivery service.

Day 1 - August 1st - Met with Craig at Smiley Dog warehouse at 10:30 am in the morning to discuss the project and tasks, and learn the Smiley Dog story.  Had a dinner meeting with Barbara and Craig to discuss the project.  I was issued this ID card (thanks Barbara!)

Day 2 -  Aug 2nd - Met with Craig and local publication advertising rep at 10am in the morning, then met with Craig to discuss dog show at Hamlin Park on August 11th - where I will be having a booth.  Met Barbara at her studio in Mulkiteo to help her load trailer, drove with her to Anacortes to help set up her booth for the Anacortes Art Fair.  Home around 11pm.

Day 3 - Friday August 3 - Met with Craig at the warehouse at noon to discuss show, marketing ideas, etc.  Starting putting together goodie bags for "influencers".  Took a goodie bag and yard sign to my parent's house in Green Lake.  Got them set up on the automatic pet food delivery program and planted the yard sign (hoping that Smiley Dog starts getting lots of calls for their automatic pet food delivery service.  Calls to Grainger about getting a replacement fan for Barbara's "glory hole" in her glass blowing furnace (it gets really hot in there even with the proper ventilation).  Started searching for Seattle area pet lovers to connect with on Facebook.

Day 4 - Saturday August 4th - Started contacting local dog meet up group organizers, doggie daycares, etc to introduce the Smiley Dog pet food delivery service.  Find a vendor to check out the rooftop ventilation fan on the top of Barbara's studio.  Went to check out/scout Glassybaby.  I really liked the simplicity - only two different pieces - each in 40 million different colors. Each different color was matched with a non-profit which receives 10% of sales of that color - cool idea that could be utilized in many different types of businesses - and help lots of great non-profits.

Day 5 - Sunday August 5th - Met Barbara at her studio at 7:15 am, spent all day at Anacortes Art Festival, scouted vendors, helped take down and pack up booth.  Home around 8:30pm.

Day 6 - Monday August 6th - Blogging about the project, recontacting fan vendors (neither bothered to respond), continue contacting influencers and start help connecting new fans to the Facebook pages for Smiley Dog and Glass Gardens NW.  Write first draft of media release about My eBay Jobs Project.  Start building national media list targeting business and employment editors.

Day 7 - Next draft of national media release, continue building national media databases - one to specifically target garden/home/arts editors.  Write "goodie bag" letter for Craig to approve.  Get more bids for vent fan service call for Barbara's shop.  Get info about her show in Alexandria in November.

BTW - yesterday I was called by someone saying that they'd like me to consider a Directory of Marketing position with a local non-profit.  I told them that I it sounds interesting and I would be interested in finding out more.  Still do not have the link to their website (or any other info).
