Summer Business Blog Challenge Week Six

This was a real busy week - getting ready for the baby in 19 days ...  I did write my post for the Summer Business Blog Challenge this morning and will post it tonight after I write this post to share two posts from other participants.

Maria Dykstra of TreDigital wrote a post titled "3 Facebook Marketing Strategies for Building Your Thought Leadership".  Maria's 3 bullets:  1) Share on Personal Facebook Page  2) Use Facebook Live 3) Buy Facebook Advertising.  Probably all good ideas.  I'm more than a little burned out on Facebook these days and think there is already too much, mostly ineffective, advertising there.  At the same time, I'm sure there are businesses that are killing it by using Facebook advertising.

Alternative Health Marketer Diana Khoury wrote a post called "Struggling in Your Business? The Support You Need is All Around You. Here’s How to Find It."  She gives a lot of great tips of where to find support as an Entrepreneur - including professional associations, networking groups, meet-ups and more.

Summer Business Blog Challenge Shares Week 5

Although it seems that there may be a little steam run off from the Summer Business Blog Challenge, I am pushing through with my shares for the week.

At this point, there are not a lot of posts to choose from this week, but here are two that I believe are worthy of sharing:

How to go from "Overwhelmed to OVER JOYED!" by Molly Mahoney of The Prepared Performer.  In this post Molly give us three great tips on how to feel super happy and excited rather than overwhelmed.  My favorite tip is to quit doing the things in your business that do not serve you.  I'm working on that now.

Molly and The Prepared Performer on Facebook

Finding Inspiration ....  by Melinda Slater of Slater Interiors.  Lots of great ideas in this post for finding inspiration.  My favorites include: go for a walk, take a weekend trip out of town and visit Open Houses, but my go-to is to rearrange the furniture in a room or the complete house.  You'll never know what kind of ideas might come of it - and I always seem to like change ...

Summer Business Blog Challenge Shares

When all doesn't go as planned, go get Pluto ;-)
Lots of great blog posts to read this week during the Summer Business Blog Challenge.

Another member of Debbie Whitlock's Summer Business Blog Challenge, Janis Barry-Flagg is a wedding officiant and has some stories to tell.  In her blog post entitled "Waiting to Officiate a Wedding This Afternoon", Janis explains that often things don't happen as planned, but most of the time they work out perfectly anyway.

Gratitude Journal August 11th

These are just some of the things that I am grateful for today:

1. Only 36 days until the scheduled appearance of Ava Kalea.  #AvaKalea
2. Dr. appointment tomorrow could clear the way for surgery I've been waiting for.
3. 93.1 Da Paina - radio from Hawaii.  I can feel like I'm home without actually being there.
4. Warm, sunny San Diego weather.
5. Options.  Very thankful to have lots of options.
6. So happy that Stacia loves working at Fortune Builders.  They've been treating her so well!  Such a great company to work for.  Maybe I'll work for CT Homes in the near future ..... ?
7. Being self-motivated.  A true blessing.
8. My mom.  Always right.  Taught me to write.
9. Being a Daddy Blogger. Who would have thought?
10. Clean eating. Green drinks. Just being healthy!

Bonus:  11.  Old black and white photos ;-) (see above - I was styling on my Radio Super Red Wagon at 14 months - and waiting for Mike Kennedy to arrive on the scene.)

Gratitude Journal 080216

These are the things that I am feeling grateful for today:

1. I'm glad that Stacia gets to carry the baby until she is born.

2. Super thankful that I get to listen to the music and podcasts I want (right now it is Da Pa'ina radio from Hawaii).

3. That I am anti-political.

4. My writing groove seems to be making a re-appearance.

5. A new towel rack in the bathroom (it was really needed - and make get a mate soon).

6. The possibility of getting an electric vehicle - even if it is a Nissan Leaf.

7. So many things to write about!

8. The opportunity to become more focused ....

9. That I have a MacBook Pro to write on until I get a 'real' computer (or my computer back from WA).

10. A chance to make incoming EFTs a constant part of my life!

Bonus:  Super clean eating, while planning a couple of cheats:  Chocolate Malts with French Toast (on Hawaiian bread) tonight / tomorrow morning to celebrate Makaya's send off to Bellevue.

Gratitude Journal 073116

I like to think that I am fairly good at practicing gratitude ..... but after reading, (and sharing) Patricia LeBlanc's post How to Live a Healthy and Abundant Life the other day, I have been making sure to make note of at least 10 things that I am grateful for.

Today marks the first day that I actually document this by writing them down.  Although it is the last day of the month, the best time to start anything is NOW - and I did not want to wait even one more day to get started.

Here are just some of the things that I am grateful for today:

Summer Blog Challenge Blog Post Shares for Week 2

This is the 2nd week of Debbie Whitlock's Summer Business Blog Challenge and I was the first to post this week (one of the last the previous week).  I hadn't read or shared any of the other participants' blog posts before today and now I'm ready to have some fun!  So many good posts to share!

The first post I'm sharing is called "How to Live a Healthy and Abundant Life" by Dream Maker  and Author Patricia LeBlanc of Patricia LeBlanc International in Toronto, Ontario.  I won't spoil all the great tips that Patricia has for living more abundant, but one of my favorites is using a Gratitude Journal each morning.

Note: Please watch for one of my blogs to be the platform I use for my daily gratitude journal.  All I need to do is list 10 things I am grateful for.  Can you do this too?  It is daily, but it is important - and quick to do.  So very beneficial.  Pick up this healthy habit with me and share where YOU are posting it.

On social media, you can 'Like' Patricia LeBlanc International on Facebook, Follow @PatriciaLeBlanc on Twitter, subscribe to Patricia LeBlanc's YouTube channel or follow @LeBlancPatricia on Instagram.

The second post that I read and will share here is titled "An Overview about Google's Micro
moments" by June Bachman, co-owner of bWyse Internet Marketing in Redmond, Washington.  I love her explanation of consumers' four micro-moment needs and then ideas on how to use this information in your marketing.  Brilliant.   Personally, I know that I'm not always looking at my various sites and business systems through my customers' (or my potential customers' eyes).  But I also know that after reading this article, I've already started thinking about adjustments to be made.

bWyse Internet Marketing can be found on Facebook and bWyse on Google+, June Bachman tweets @GotbWysed, June's business partner Wendy Ogryzek can be found on YouTube.

Thanks for visiting my blog and reading this post.  Please make sure to read these articles and leave a positive comment if anything within resonates with you.  It definitely doesn't hurt to share these words of wisdom with people you care about either ...

Summer Business Blog Challenge: First Shares

Even though this has been a strange, crazy and super unexpected week - I'm having a lot of fun with Debbie Whitlock's Summer Business Blog Challenge.  I haven't quite accomplished nearly as much as I was hoping for and working toward, but sometimes life happens and gets in the way of your plans.

As much as I've enjoyed writing posts on my new blog at Daddy Blogger World - and newly setting up some of my dormant blogs including A New Day Real Estate, the most fun I'm having so far is sharing the content of some of the other challenge participants.

Debbie Whitlock's Summer Blog Challenge: My Way to Break Out as A Daddy Blogger?

My friend Debbie Whitlock is an amazing person who has built up a huge following over the years.  She specializes in helping women with their finances, but has expanded into business coaching for women.  Since I am not a woman, I was especially thankful that she accepted me into her Summer Blog Challenge!

Here are the rules and expectations:
