On last night's National Team Huddle Webinar for Solavei, Training Leader Extraordinaire and the Company's first Social Executive 3, Staci Wallace 'double dog dared' us all to watch the movie "Pursuit of Happyness" with Will Smith and his young son Jaden who did a great job in his movie debut. I had already seen and enjoyed the film a couple of years ago, but since Staci recommended it - not to mention the double dog dare, I just had to watch it again and had my hands on a copy a couple of hours later. The ever-talented Smith, co-produced and starred in the based on a true story movie as Chris Gardner. Gardner lived in San Francisco and made his young son his priority after never meeting his own father until he was 28 years old. Despite being a very caring and dedicated dad, Gardner ran into tough times - his car was towed because of unpaid parking tickets, money was more than tight, his wife left him, he and his son were evicted from his apartment and then a cheap motel, he was thrown in jail for the previously mentioned parking tickets, the IRS levied his bank account and took his entire savings. Still the same he worked night and day to better himself and make a better life for his son. After struggling through an unpaid internship to get a job as a stockbroker, all the while taking care of his son and fighting to keep a roof over their heads and food on their table, he beat out all the other interns and won a job with Dean Witter, which was one of the best firms of the time.
Later Gardner, started his own investment firm and became a multi-millionaire when he sold a minority share in his company. What a great story of struggle and triumph. Many of the struggles that he experienced hit so close to (my) home, they were hard to watch. I am not ashamed to admit I did not make it through the entire movie with dry eyes. Even during the middle of his struggles, Smith's character, Chris Gardner told his son three things I thought were very important:
- Don't EVER let somebody tell you that you can't do something.
- If you have a dream, you HAVE to protect it.
- If you want something - go get it. PERIOD.
This is the way that I feel about the opportunity to grow with Solavei. There are a lot of people who want to talk it down - but those are people who just don't get it, and haven't bothered to take the time to learn about and understand it. There are also people, including my own mom, who have told me I just can't do it. But the fact is, I do have a dream - and that is to help 1,000 improve their lives by saving and making money through Solavei and it's great cell phone service. To protect that dream, I've actually had to quit talking to and (more importantly) quit listening to the naysayers - yes, including my own dear mother. After having my own struggles for much longer than I'd like to admit, I want this SO BAD that I am doing whatever it takes to go get it.
How bad do you ask? In addition to having to stop listening to my mom and sacrificing relationships with other friends and family members who have not been supportive in my quest, I've started to really buy into and participate in the Solavei training, following Staci Wallace's advice and training, as well do some things that others just won't do: This picture is of the sign that you might have seen me holding on a street corner around town.Yes, it looks kind of trashy and amateurish - but I don't currently have the money to have a real sign made. It also gets surprising heavy when trying to hold it up in the air for a couple of hours at a time - especially with an injured neck. But I am committed, I won't let ANYONE tell me I can't do something, I have a dream and I will protect it and I want to achieve my goal with Solavei and 49DollarCellService so bad that I am doing everything I possibly can to go out and get it.
My dream of helping 1,000 people save and earn money with Solavei's cell service has a purpose, beyond the lofty goal of helping so many others - and it's just like Chris Gardner's was. I want to make a better life for my child.
If you would allow me to help you save money on your cell bill and/or show you how you can make a good extra income each and every month, please give me a call at 425-429-8590 or get more information at 49DollarCellService.com.
