This morning as I was going through my regular barrage of email, ads, e-newsletters and spam, I looked at an email from Rob over at JetSetLife.tv to see what was going on. In his email, he actually asked ME (and every single other newsletter subscriber) to send him some questions about what is holding people back from building a successful online business.
I have not yet met Rob, but have watched a growing number of his videos and read many of his emails - he does genuinely want to help people. I love his method and hope it creates a lot of engagement for him. After listening this morning to Dave Navarro of TheLaunchCoach.com, I believe a side benefit (or possible even the main target of this exercise) is that Rob's readers will send him questions that will help him come up with new products to create and market? Am I on track?
Anyway, here is the video of me asking Rob two main questions:
Basically my questions were:
1) How do you choose what to focus your time on?
2) How did you get started in internet marketing, what was your first product and how did it do?
What would you like to ask Rob? Anything you would like to ask ME? I'd love to get some videos from readers of this blog to share with all our readers. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment, write or vlog with you questions.
Hey Joe!
ReplyDeleteGreat to "meet" you (and awesome video by the way:). OK Let's get to your questions....
1) How do you choose what to focus your time on?
Great question! Lot's of frustrating trial and error with this. I read Leo Babauta manifesto and it really helped a lot.

In short. I write down ONLY 3 projects that I MOST want to work on i.e. projects that I am super passionate about and will create great the biggest source of income AND will help the highest number of people.
Then I write down the actions that need to get done to complete each of those. Here's the trick.....You can NOT add another project until ALL three projects are completed (otherwise you'll keep adding and nothing will get done).
2) How did you get started in internet marketing, what was your first product and how did it do?
Like so many people I read the 4 hour week week and got super inspired. For me, there just was not enough examples of people who had online "muses" making money in the book.
So, I set out to interview people who were making money online ....that had products that had nothing to do with "making money on line"......
I put those interviews together into a product called Jet Set Money and it was a hit and still is.
Here's the link if anyone wants to see what I'm talking about http://jetsetlife.tv/start-jet-set-money/
Hope that helps!

P.S. Here's an interview we did a few weeks ago that may answer a few more questions...http://www.therisetothetop.com/badass-blogger/rob-and-kim-murgatroyd-interview/
ALL THE BEST!!!!
Hey Rob - thanks for the great answers and resources. Just love what you and Kim are doing!
