In the past couple of years I have researched A LOT of different social media platforms - both for use for Eastside Entrepreneurs and for a national/international business network. There are some decent ones and some really bad ones - and I still have not found one I feel is worth changing to from our current Ning network. One social media platform based in the Seattle area is Service Box. The first thing I thought about them is that it is a terrible name - my opinion hasn't changed. Now after months of attempting to remove my profile, they are still sending me spam almost daily. I have emailed them, tweeted them and FB'd them asking very nicely to be removed from their system. But up to this point, I am still receiving their spam - on Saturday I received 23 emails from them!
Service Box is a great example of how NOT to run a social network - spam your members, don't give them a way to remove their profile and don't respond to any communications from your members. It will be sure to piss your members off, make them want to quit and then start (and keep on) talking shit about your network.
Shame on you Service Box!
It's interesting to me that Service Box has still not responded and today I received even more spam from them!
ReplyDeleteVery strange that they don't appear to have a way to cancel an account - and they obviously do not respond to inquiries on their site ...
