Have you ever really just wanted to get a bunch of time wasting email from people you don't know and will never get to meet? Just post your resume on Craigslist!
Like most people, I already get way too much spam, but I need a job badly so I decided to post my resume on Craigslist. So far it has proven to be a BIG mistake. In three days I have already received a ton of spam and no 'real' replies.
Still the same, I do need some income, so I'll take a chance and keep my resume posted.

How Not To Run a Social Network: Service Box
In the past couple of years I have researched A LOT of different social media platforms - both for use for Eastside Entrepreneurs and for a national/international business network. There are some decent ones and some really bad ones - and I still have not found one I feel is worth changing to from our current Ning network.

More Featured Members at Eastside Entrepreneurs
As those of you who know me can attest, I love to connect people and promote their businesses. The other day I wrote a post about some of the members who were featured at Eastside Entrepreneurs. It got a lot of play, but I was a little surprised that there weren't a few more link backs and comments.
I'm going to continue to promote fellow members of Eastside Entrepreneurs and just featured four members - all of who happen to be friends of mine. I'm proud to call Cathy Lalley, Kim Crumpler, Rick Hubbert and Tommy Chan all friends who have been valued members of Eastside Entrepreneurs for some time now.

Trading Up - I've Got Three Green Pens - and Far Reaching Goals
You've probably heard the story of Kyle MacDonald who realized his dream of owning a home by trading up from one red paper clip. He also gets to meet some interesting people along the way, including Alice Cooper and Corbin Bernsen. Very inspiring. I'm going to do something similar, only three times as big!
My goals for this project are to trade up for 1) College education for Jackie Kennedy 2) Feed 100 families for 5 years 3) International Travel for myself.
I've got three green pens (ballpoint) that I am going to be trading up for. Want to be part of my story? What do you have to trade for one green pen? Email your offer to JoeConnector(at)Gmail.com Those offering to trade must be open to being part of the story and having photos and videos of them used on the internet.
Please spread the love and let your social networks know about this project. Thank you for your help!

Sky High Sports in Bellevue is a Blast!
Yesterday Jackie Kennedy and I took our first visit to Sky High Sports in Bellevue. It was a lot of fun and I expect we'll probably be back there at least once a week.

Gratitude Log is a Great Way to Start Your Day!
A month or so ago I became acquainted with GratitudeLog.com - referred there by Brian Johnson's PhilosophersNotes. At the beginning of each day, I am attempting to visit the Gratitude Log site and answer the simple question: What are you grateful for?I have been able to turn a few people on to the site, but still only have 4 friends/followers there. Will you check it out and add me as a friend if you decide to join? It is FREE - and for me has been a real good way to start my day on a very positive note.

I Want to Be a Community Manager for Ally Marketing!
Even though I am very motivated to find work that comes with a paycheck, I still have not applied for a lot of jobs. When it comes to looking for employment, I've never believed in the shotgun approach. I believe it is much better to know what I am looking for and to pretty much focus on that type of role or position. It just so happens that as I was browsing the jobs posted today on Craigslist, that I came across a great job as a Community Manager for a client of Ally Marketing. I actually got kind of excited as I applied for this position, as I know that I'd be very good at it and believe that my recent experience (especially as the Founder and Community Manager of Eastside Entrepreneurs) would be a great asset in the role.
Do you know anyone who might be able to help me get at least an interview for this position? Do you know of any other similar roles that may be available at other companies? If you are responsible for me accepting a position in the next 60 days, you are eligible for a referral fee of 1/2 half of my first paycheck! That's right - I'll be working the first week for YOU!
Thank you for your help and remember, you can always contact me at 424-213-4176 or by using other methods listed on the contact page.
Some Great Barter Options in Bellevue if You are a Member of BizExchange
I'm really glad that after shutting down my newspaper (Eastside Business / Bellevue Business Journal) and after my webhosting nightmare last September where 1and1.com shut down all 68 of my websites) that I decided to build a local business / news site at: BellevueBusinessJournal.com. I'm equally glad that BellevueBusinessJournal.com is a part of BizXchange and we accept barter as a form of payment for advertising on the site.

Try FrugalHerbs.com for Discounts on All Natural Herbs and Essentials
Last week while searching the web for deals on organic wheat grass (I have actually been able to convince my brain that it tastes good), I came across FrugalHerbs.com on Ebay. I ordered a couple of containers of their organic wheat grass for perhaps the best price on the planet and it showed up in my mailbox two or three days later. Frugal Herbs is run by Tanner and Melissa Ochowicz and provides good products at good prices, with excellent customer service. I highly recommend them!

Hot Yoga in Bellevue Doing Great Business on a Sunday Morning
This morning I was more than a little surprised to see so many people (mostly attractive women) coming out of Hot Yoga at 121 106th Avenue in downtown Bellevue. I had never seen anyone there before, but was glad to see that they seem to be doing some very good business - at least on a Sunday morning. Next week I may have to skip or supplement my workout at another unnamed gym that I do not recommend and attend a class at the Bellevue location of Hot Yoga. Are you into yoga? How about Hot Yoga?

TwitterMavens.com Introduced Onstage at Gnomedex 10
Melody Biringer and Shauna Causey today unveiled their new Tech Mavens website at TechMavens.com onstage at Gnomedex 10. From the "Who we are" page at techmavens:
Women in top technology positions are scarce – but they’re out there. They just need a safe space to rock out, rally the troops, and share success stories. At Tech Mavens, we want to close the gender gap, shift perceptions and highlight innovators. So we’ve launched a network of trailblazing women in the digital, social media and technology spheres.
We want Tech Mavens to be a crashpad. A launchpad. An inspiration station, advice center, event hub and force for social change.

Joe "The Connector" Needs Your Help Connecting with a Job
Earlier in the year I started blogging about my search for an employment opportunity over at JoeKennedy.biz. After not being able to get even one in person interview (I did four phone interviews) after three months, I decided to just try focusing on my real estate business, AAA Properties. In the past few months I've sold one home and have listings for two others - but still the same it hasn't been enough to keep up with my relatively small expenses. I'm behind on almost all of my payments and in danger of having utilities shut off, accounts closed and having my cell phone account closed. (this is all very humbling for me to disclose, but I am in a desperate situation).
The bottom line is that I need to find a job - very quickly. Since I am now using JoeKennedy.biz as my real estate blog site and I'm not going to give up real estate unless I absolutely have to, I have decided to re-start my social media campaign to find employment here on this new blog: JoeConnector.com, which will be built out and contributed to over the next number of days, weeks, and possibly months or years - until I have found a great opportunity where I can thrive.
One side note: Today I should have been at Gnomedex 10 (I have promoted Gnomedex for a number of years now through my former newspaper and current online news site at BellevueBusinessJournal.com), but stayed at my home office and applied to recruiters and a few specific opportunities I found on Craigslist, Mashable and some other good job search sites.
